Observation No. 4

This weekend I noticed that there are a lot of people in the forest near my house. Of course, not as much as in a town, however just a few years ago, while on a walk there you wouldn't bump into someone else so often.  It is definitely related to pandemics. It's understandable that no one wants to stay at home forever and those who are scared of being infected in overcrowded cities look for replacements such as forests, but it gives the opposite results. Now I feel that the forests became overcrowded. It also has its consequences, more uneducated people in a forest, means more trash and pollution there. With all those disadvantages however, I don't think anything can be done right now. I guess that you can never hide from people these days, you should just stop trying.

Observation No. 3

While I was in a shop recently, I noticed that there were already some products related to Christmas on shelves like sweets and decorations, even Christmas trees.  This is not anything new and surprising, it happens every year, however I do not know how to feel about it. I guess that it's kind of annoying because it's still significantly over a month left until Christmas and people have other problems to deal with currently. It makes me angry when I'm reminded that there are still a lot of things to do before December comes, many of which are definitely unpleasant. Moreover, waiting for 2 months makes Christmas feel even faster, you wait for so long working hard, and then it passes faster than a blink of an eye. And you return to the grey reality. In my opinion those companies should start advertising Christmas once December begins but not earlier.

Observation No. 2

This observation applies to myself more than to the world around me but to me it's an interesting one.  I've realised that the reason why I have struggle to post new observations doesn't lie in lasiness or memory. I simply have stuggle to find anything worth discussing.  I don't think that I don't encounter anythig interesting, In fact I think that my life is full of situations which are worth to mention and to contemplate on. However, I just don't see them as interesting. And that is what leads me to simply forgetting them early on.  On the other hand, in my opinion it's relatively easy to find a solution. First of all I need to pay more attention to seemingly irrelavant behaviours and situations. Stopping to constantly use the phone while on the road or talking to people more might help that. Also, I usually go straight to my house after school. Maybe it would be better if I checked how things are doing in the city first. Unfortunately it's hard to fin...

Observation No. 1

Yesterday, while returning to my second home for the weekend, I saw that all the dogs of our neighbors were closed in their properties and weren't able to rush out onto the street when they saw us as they have usually been doing since the beginning of pandemics.    It seems that our neighbors returned to their old and necessary habit. A few months ago people preferred to stay home, but when they realized that hardly anyone goes out, they let their dogs out to the village to give them more freedom, I guess. Even when the daily amount of infections reduced, and people stopped being scared of leaving their homes, dogs were still out for a time. It was dangerous both for people and the dogs. Probably someone started complaining about it recently. Anyway, I hope that the 4’th wave of the pandemic won’t cause the dogs to go out again that often.

Ban on assault weapons in the US. Would it be a good thing?

Yesterday, I read a few weeks old article from the BBC about the US president's plan regarding the ban on assault weapons. He wants it due to mass shootings (especially the most recent ones). President Biden reminds that when such a ban was brought in 1994, it really helped to bring down these incidents. In my opinion background checking and ban on the most deadly types of weapons is a good thing. It's the government's obligation to do anything they can to stop violence and mass killings. However, the president should remember not to push it any further. He shouldn't forbid to have weapons completely. It's American's right to have them, it's their freedom. In some states people live far from civilization, and especially they need to have the opportunity to defend themselves and their land in situations when it's required.  https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56509481

The lucky ones will be able to trave this summer (but only the lucky ones).

The article from CNN, that I've read today is written by Nathan Kay, and it's about tourism during the upcoming summer. To partly unfreeze the tourist market, some countries are going to allow those who are already vaccinated to travel this summer using for example, like Denmark, the coronavirus immunity passports. This of course means that some injustice is going to occur. As we know, older people have a much bigger chance to be vaccinated before the holiday. Some people, especially younger ones, are criticizing such a solution because of that. I don't argue that this isn't fair. Of course older people have the right to be vaccinated earlier due to the higher risk, but this right is not the same as the right to have more freedom than others. Despite that, I do not think that equality is the most important factor here. If somebody is vaccinated and likely has immunity for Covid-19, why not allow him/her to have more freedom? Those people shouldn't be closed in their...

(Not) a happy landing

The article that I read today on CBS is about the latest achievements of Elon Musk's SpaceX and is written by William Harwood. A few days ago another Starship prototype didn't manage to survive its test. It was the first model, which managed to land. This "happy landing" was greeted with applause from people around the world. The happiness however was stopped shortly after, when SpaceX's rocket once more exploded, this time on the ground.  Starship is a vehicle that is going to be used by Elon Musk for transporting people and other resources to Mars and also other places in our planetary system. This is the reason why it must be very safe  (by space flight standards of course). In my opinion that it's better that the new prototype failed, because it gave its engineers (and other members of the team that's responsible for this project) the new important information. It's better that it's the prototype that exploded and not the final version with the...
