How can we solve The Fermi Paradox?
I published a post, about what is the Fermi paradox. There are many theories trying to solve it. Here are a few examples.
Scientists claim that colonising the entire Milky Way by a single developed enough civilization should take around 40/50 mln years. Our galaxy has existed for billions of years, so we should have already been visited by many extraterrestial species at this time.We might have been but that's unproven. However, for us sending anything, just to Earth's orbit consumes a lot of energy and expensive resources. Maybe other civilizations face the same problem. Even if they have technology that's able to send them to other planetary systems, many of them just don't have enough resources to do it within reasonable time. If that is true they could still send a signal to other parts of galaxy so why we still haven't picked up any? That leads us to another theory. Aliens can be way different than us. What if they see time differently? On Earth, for some small animals time runs a lot slower, because a single information/thought travells a lot faster through their brains (for flies around 5x, that's why they respond so quickly). If for aliens time runs slower/faster, their transmission technology is based on totally different frequencies. As a result, we can't notice any signal, even though we pick up them very often. There are many other theories, like Waterplanets (most of extraterrestrial intelligent life lives in the water and isn't able to go to space), Small Aliens (their entire civilization is smaller than a piece of sand, so they can't be observed from Earth), and many more. However most likely reason is that aliens are too different and even though we are looking at them all the time we don't notice them, because their look, technology or functioning is beyond our imagination.

This is really interesting and, by the way, I am not at all surprised that we haven't seen aliens yet. Looking at all the theories you describe it would be an incredible coincidence if we met them.
