Could we use nuclear bombs to colonise the solar system or the entire galaxy?

 There are many ideas of space propulsions, which could give future soace ships enough speed to colonise the entire Milky Way in a reasonable time (a few millions of years), or even bigger space. For example the Alcubierres drive, which would use a huge mass at its front, to thicken the space at the front ant expand it behind the ship, whichh could make us travel even a few billions times faster than light, antimater drive (very dangerous one), or one of my favourites - the solar sails, that could use light like a normal sail uses wind. However in the middle of XX century there was also a concept of a ship that could use atomic bombs to travel. Most of us consider them to be an absolute evil, and think that they can only kill and destroy, however that's not true. Apparently, nuclear bombs can be used for the benefit of humanity. The ship would have a huge shield at the back, with a louncher in the middle. It would lounch a single bomb regularry, 4 bombs per second and every bomb would explode short time after being launched. The shield would absorbe the unleashedend energy, which would every time accelerate the ship. So in a way, that kind of ship would surf the shockwave. This technology could make us travel with a speed even up to 10% of the speed of light. A huge disadvantage of that kind of ship is that it can travel through space, but due to enormous amount of radiation you couldn't bring it anywhere near the orbit of a planet, you care about and want to colonise. There are also diffrent concepts of nuclear power using ships.

Observation No. 3

 While I was in a shop recently, I noticed that there were already some products related to Christmas on shelves like sweets and decorations, even Christmas trees.  This is not anything new and surprising, it happens every year, however I do not know how to feel about it. I guess that it's kind of annoying because it's still significantly over a month left until Christmas and people have other problems to deal with currently. It makes me angry when I'm reminded that there are still a lot of things to do before December comes, many of which are definitely unpleasant. Moreover, waiting for 2 months makes Christmas feel even faster, you wait for so long working hard, and then it passes faster than a blink of an eye. And you return to the grey reality. In my opinion those companies should start advertising Christmas once December begins but not earlier.

Ban on assault weapons in the US. Would it be a good thing?

 Yesterday, I read a few weeks old article from the BBC about the US president's plan regarding the ban on assault weapons. He wants it due to mass shootings (especially the most recent ones). President Biden reminds that when such a ban was brought in 1994, it really helped to bring down these incidents. In my opinion background checking and ban on the most deadly types of weapons is a good thing. It's the government's obligation to do anything they can to stop violence and mass killings. However, the president should remember not to push it any further. He shouldn't forbid to have weapons completely. It's American's right to have them, it's their freedom. In some states people live far from civilization, and especially they need to have the opportunity to defend themselves and their land in situations when it's required.  https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56509481

Observation No. 4

This weekend I noticed that there are a lot of people in the forest near my house. Of course, not as much as in a town, however just a few years ago, while on a walk there you wouldn't bump into someone else so often.  It is definitely related to pandemics. It's understandable that no one wants to stay at home forever and those who are scared of being infected in overcrowded cities look for replacements such as forests, but it gives the opposite results. Now I feel that the forests became overcrowded. It also has its consequences, more uneducated people in a forest, means more trash and pollution there. With all those disadvantages however, I don't think anything can be done right now. I guess that you can never hide from people these days, you should just stop trying.
