The lucky ones will be able to trave this summer (but only the lucky ones).

The article from CNN, that I've read today is written by Nathan Kay, and it's about tourism during the upcoming summer. To partly unfreeze the tourist market, some countries are going to allow those who are already vaccinated to travel this summer using for example, like Denmark, the coronavirus immunity passports. This of course means that some injustice is going to occur. As we know, older people have a much bigger chance to be vaccinated before the holiday. Some people, especially younger ones, are criticizing such a solution because of that.

I don't argue that this isn't fair. Of course older people have the right to be vaccinated earlier due to the higher risk, but this right is not the same as the right to have more freedom than others. Despite that, I do not think that equality is the most important factor here. If somebody is vaccinated and likely has immunity for Covid-19, why not allow him/her to have more freedom? Those people shouldn't be closed in their countries just to make those who haven't been vaccinated yet feel better. Other fact that should be mentioned is that the tourist market needs to be unfrozen. Those companies have already suffered very much, and they need as many customers as they can. Artificially created equality is never a good solution in any case.

  1. You could always test younger people for antibodies (they should have them and be immune to Covid19 if they have had the disease). If they have antibodies, let them travel too.
